- Active wound infection requiring surgical intervention
- Expanding neck hematoma

- Difficulty breathing (rare, from deep space swelling)
- New inability to move the lower lip on the operated side (marginal mandibular nerve injury)
- New difficulty with tongue movement or swallowing (hypoglossal nerve concern)
