- Active stomal infection requiring IV antibiotics
- Unresolved upper airway obstruction without decannulation plan
- Hemodynamic instability
Eksempler på daglige aktiviteter
- Saline Rinses / Spray — Keep nasal/oral mucosa moist and clean.
- Soft / Cool Diet — Reduce trauma to surgical site during eating.
- Bleeding Watch — Detect post-tonsillectomy / sinus bleeding early.
- Daily Pain & Symptom Check-In — Track pain, energy, mood, and any new symptoms to detect complications early.
- Wound / Incision Inspection — Check incision sites for infection (redness, drainage, dehiscence).
- Hydration & Nutrition Log — ERAS emphasizes early oral intake and adequate hydration.

- Accidental decannulation (tube falls out), especially in first 7 days
- Severe difficulty breathing through the tracheostomy tube not relieved by suctioning
- Significant bleeding from or around the stoma
- Tube obstruction not cleared by inner cannula change or suctioning
- Subcutaneous emphysema (crackling sensation in skin around the neck or chest)
- Signs of respiratory distress (rapid breathing, use of accessory muscles, blue discoloration)
