Restriktioner
- Active untreated wound infection requiring systemic intervention before local wound care
- Wounds with unexplored fistulae
- Wounds with exposed major blood vessels without surgical coverage
- Malignant wounds requiring oncologic management before wound care optimization

- Sudden heavy bleeding from the wound
- Fever above 38.5C with spreading redness, warmth, or red streaks from the wound
- Rapidly expanding area of redness and pain around the wound (concern for cellulitis or necrotizing infection)
- Foul-smelling drainage with systemic symptoms
- Wound that was healing suddenly deteriorates with new necrotic tissue
- New exposure of bone, tendon, or hardware through the wound
