Restriktioner
- Active surgical site or prosthetic joint infection
- Periprosthetic fracture
- Hemodynamic instability
- Suspected DVT or PE before clearance
Eksempler på daglige aktiviteter
- Range of Motion (ROM) Exercises — Begin gentle ROM to prevent stiffness per ERAS orthopedic pathway.
- Isometric Strengthening — Maintain muscle activation without joint stress.
- Weight-Bearing Walking (per surgeon) — Begin gait training with assistive device as prescribed.
- Ice & Elevation — Control swelling — a major driver of pain after orthopedic surgery.
- Daily Pain & Symptom Check-In — Track pain, energy, mood, and any new symptoms to detect complications early.
- Wound / Incision Inspection — Check incision sites for infection (redness, drainage, dehiscence).
- Hydration & Nutrition Log — ERAS emphasizes early oral intake and adequate hydration.

- Calf pain, swelling, warmth or redness (deep vein thrombosis)
- Severe sudden knee pain with new swelling and fever (prosthetic joint infection)
- Sudden knee instability, giving way, or inability to bear any weight (mechanical failure)
- Wound opening with exposed tissue or heavy bleeding
