- Ongoing limb-threatening ischemia requiring further intervention
- Active major bleeding or inability to tolerate anticoagulation
- Compartment syndrome of the limb not yet treated
- Hemodynamic instability

- Distal Pulse & Sensation Check — Detect graft or bypass complications early.
- Blood Pressure Monitoring — BP control is critical to graft success.
- Early Ambulation — Walking promotes circulation and graft patency.
- Daily Pain & Symptom Check-In — Track pain, energy, mood, and any new symptoms to detect complications early.
- Wound / Incision Inspection — Check incision sites for infection (redness, drainage, dehiscence).
- Hydration & Nutrition Log — ERAS emphasizes early oral intake and adequate hydration.

- The treated limb again becomes cold, pale, blue, numb, or severely painful (the clot has returned)
- Severe, tense, worsening pain and tightness in the calf or forearm (compartment syndrome)
- Sudden chest pain, breathlessness, or coughing blood (clot to the lungs)
- Sudden weakness, facial droop, slurred speech, or vision loss (clot to the brain)
- Heavy bleeding from the wound or anywhere that will not stop while on blood thinners
