• Increasing nasal pain or pressure that is worsening rather than improving after day 3
• Foul-smelling nasal discharge

• Feeling that one side of the nose is significantly more swollen or blocked than expected (asymmetric swelling may indicate hematoma)
• Whistling sound when breathing through the nose after recovery (possible septal perforation)
• Persistent clear, watery nasal drainage that differs from expected bloody mucus (rare CSF leak concern)
