- Sudden severe swelling of the whole arm with pain or skin tightness
- Increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pus, or fever (infection)
- The thrill becomes much weaker or feels different than usual
- New numbness, tingling, or weakness in the fingers
- Worsening pain in the hand during or after gripping or cold exposure
